Marrakech, Morocco: and a tale of Peacock Pavilions design hotel - Part 1

It's been a quiet Summer here at Peacock Pavilions hotel in Marrakech.  But school's back in session and our little Moroccan design hotel is back in session, too!

Hotel guests are arriving, cocktails are pouring, and dips are being had in the pool!  We have some fun retreats coming up, new recipes in the making, and some lovely new staff. Yes, it's just the way we like it:-)

This week, I thought I'd share a few images from my own little world -- my own handmade patch of Marrakesh.

PS Would you travel to Morocco?  To Africa? Or does it seem to far-away and too foreign to you?  {You can tell me the truth!:-)}

Marrakesh Morocco: and a tale of magazine fashion shoot at Peacock Pavilions

Marrakesh Morocco: and a tale of magazine fashion shoot at Peacock Pavilions

 It's always a pinch-me thrill when Peacock Pavilions is chosen as a Marrakech shoot location for a magazine.  We were ridiculously excited this past year when Swedish lifestyle magazine, Femina, selected our place as their feature shoot location for all their Spring and Summer issues.  We were in an amazing four issues!

Marrakech Morocco: and a tale of unplugging & connecting -- Christine Johnson family photography

They were seated at the table next door in the restaurant.  Parents and two children, their heads stooped over, their faces bathed in that unmistakable glow. The daughter flicked through the photos at the speed of light, one after another, one after another.  The father typed furiously with his two thumbs, his mouth curled in a scowl.  The littlest boy cried Nooooo.....and then Yesssss... as he shot laser after laser.  The mother liked and then liked again -- she liked everyone, it seemed.
