My Musings [and Muses]

Marrakech: and a tale of not forgotten dancing

It's been busy.  It's been too busy.  It's been too busy in the insurmountable To Do List way.  Oh, the deadlines.  all. of. them.

I'm a girl buried under an avalanche of tasks.  (Hello.......... Anyone in there?)

But somewhere deep inside is a different girl.  The one who dances. The one not bothered by deadlines.  The one who takes naps in the afternoon.  And has long talks on the phone.  Yes, the one whose friends drop in to find her music turned all the way up.

Do you know her?   The girl dancing?  She's the one with wings.

Marrakech: and an overwhelmed tale

All the deadlines, all the to do lists, all the inboxes.

All the emails that have gone unanswered, the help requests that have gone unhelped, the phone calls that have gone unreturned.

All the things to make, the gardens to plant.  the recipes to try.

All the pounds to lose.  On me, on my shoulders... in my brain.

I am trying to remember, really remember, the time when all that was before me was the anticipation.....

1
of being air bound...... light, so light.

before the cool splash of water.

Are you trying to remember, too?

Marrakech design inspiration: a tale of a rose-filled Moroccan dinner party

In the prettiest of all pretty houses in Marrakech, there was a dinner.

MyMarrakesh9
Imagine a fountain filled with Moroccan roses.......

MyMarrakesh8

Could it be any lovelier?

MyMarrakesh7
There were roses quite literally everywhere.

    Like here.

MyMarrakesh3
And blooming plants in vintage Moroccan repousse pails........

MyMarrakesh2
Girls in beautiful dresses sat on tufted velvet cushions....

MyMarrakesh4
at a table that was like pure magic.......

MyMarrakesh1
The hostess, a personal chef, prepared delicacies in the kitchen.

Her beauty in a lace dress was dangerous - a bit like looking at the sun.

MyMarrakesh10
The dark evening.  Everything so delicious.

 MyMarrakesh12

 No detail forgotten.

MyMarrakesh13

And at the end of the evening, far past midnight, a tiny boy came to say goodnight.  His father, a British photographer, looked on amused.

MyMarrakesh16
And by the light of a  Moroccan lantern...

MyMarrakesh15
in a courtyard with a rose-filled fountain, all crimson .........

MyMarrakesh14
we bade farewell to the loveliest of all lovely evenings in Marrakech............
